Continuing our spotlight on Primus this week, for today’s Tuesday’s Gone, we’re throwing it all the way back to the beginning of the band with this remarkable footage of them performing live at KZSU Radio Station from 1989. Mind you, this is before they released their debut album Frizzle Fry (which would officially drop the following year), so this performance captures the band at their very infancy. Their budding chemistry is evident here, as they impressively jam through “To Defy the Laws of Tradition” without missing a beat. Claypool may look like a baby-faced, crusty Deadhead truck driver here, but he’s also essentially the same as he’s always been (confidently quirky + a phenom on the bass). It’s a trip. Dig it:
