LISTEN: Nicholas Podany Crafts Moving Pop-Rock Anthem On Explosive “I Just Can’t Get You Alone”

Nicholas Podany is a New York-based musician who performs his own vocals, as well as guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, ukulele, and mandolin. You can also catch him as Billy Crystal in Netflix’s Saturday Night, Joey Shorter in Apple TV+’s “Hello Tomorrow,” and Podany is currently filming Season 1 of “PONIES” in Budapest opposite Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones).

Off-screen, Podany is proving to be a force in the indie pop scene, and “I Just Can’t Get You Alone” continues to push the artist to new heights. The stand-out song from Podany’s A Silly Little New York Guy EP is a ripping and infectious example of the artist’s anthemic approach to pop-rock. The explosive anthem features a soaring, passionate vocal performance from Podany that delivers palpable longing via moving, vulnerable lyrics. The heartfelt aggression of the vocals is emphasized by whirling, searing guitars that mosh with neck-breaking drums and dance with angelic backing vocals, creating a hectic yet ethereal arrangement. With a thriving acting career continually growing, Podany seems ready to add chart-topping musician to his list of accomplishments. “I Just Can’t Get You Alone” introduces a new side of Podany’s artistry through a firework-style love song that sits in your soul long after the song finishes.

“I started writing this tune four years ago simply because I needed something to start the second episode of my web series, Lucids,” explains Podany. “I came up with it one night in the shower, thinking I wanted something out of John Lennon’s late solo career, something raw, all heart and no brain. And as soon as I started saying the words ‘And the Boogie too’ in a Liverpool accent, I knew I had a good song on my hands.”
