While we often devote much of our nostalgic attention in these columns to 20th century acts, there has certainly been no shortage of compelling and visceral bands that have emerged this side of the millennium. And one of the most prolific and consistently enthralling bands on the “Manic” front would have to be the Osees (aka Thee Oh Sees). Led by modern day guitar hero John Dwyer, the band has produced an astounding 28 studio albums over the past 2 decades or so, and with yet another one (Abomination Revealed at Last) slated to be released later this week, it seems like a good occasion to spotlight one of the most exhilarating and dynamic 21st century bands in the business.
Needless to say, the Osees have delivered their fair share of certifiable rippers over the course of their impressive career, not the least of which includes “Withered Hand” off their somewhat underrated album Mutilator Defeated at Last.
