Tour Dates: Freaks Ball

If you’re looking to get a little freaky this fall you’re in luck as psychedelic art-pop acts of Montreal and Janelle Monae will join forces for a 25-date tour that will kick off with a two-night stand at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC on September 13. The two eclectic Atlanta-based acts seem to have forged quite the friendship, as they each guest on each others’ albums – Kevin Barnes & Co. appear on one track of Monae’s critically acclaimed LP The ArchAndroid, while Janelle will lend her talents to two songs on of Montreal’s forthcoming effort False Priest, which hits stores on Sept. 14.

Finally, despite their high profile appearance at the Super Bowl in January, it has been almost four years since The Who have been out for a full tour. That will change in 2011 as the venerable classic rock act are eying up a return to the road in the spring of next year with a new show that according to Billboard may include a retooled stage presentation of their 1973 rock opera Quadrophenia, which the band recently performed at a benefit in March and last toured with 14 years ago.
