Rather than a standard “Best Of” list with the typical breakdown of 2004’s top offerings, our annual “From The Artists’ Perspective” goes straight to the source – the artists – to find out where they look for inspiration. This year we took that model and went a step further. Not only did we identify the best albums and favorite live performances, but we asked more questions and dug deeper to get readers into the artists’ mind in 2004. From classic moments on the road to guilty pleasure confessions, we reinforced what we already knew (or assumed) and also uncovered some downright shocking information.
