Modest Mouse are hitting the road with newest member, guitarist Johnny Marr, in support of their new release, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank.
The first section of the tour kicks off April 15 at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre and will hit cities all over North America including Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, New Orleans and Los Angeles. The trek also includes two nights each in Minneapolis and New York.
So far, the only band’s dates outside North America are two shows in the U.K. (May 20 at Butlins Arena in Minehead and May 23 at London’s Royal Albert Hall) and one show in Spain (June 1 at the Barcelona Forum).
The Modest Mouse web site promises more dates are forthcoming.
We Were Dead, which hit shelves March 20, is the band’s fifth studio album. Besides the debut of former Smiths’ guitarist Marr, the album also marks the return of original MM drummer Jeremiah Green and features guest vocals on several tracks by Shins‘ frontman James Mercer.
