Dirty Dozen, Soulive, Jon Cleary to Play Vintage Virginia Festival

The Vintage Virginia wine tasting festival, held annually on the first weekend of June, is one of the largest and longest-running wine events on the East Coast. The event, which features over 50 wineries pouring unlimited tastings of over 250 award-winning Virginia wines and hosts an annual crowd of 20,000 wine enthusiasts, has found a new home at Bull Run Regional Park Special Events Center, in Centreville Virginia, where it will return this June 2-3 for a showcase weekend of sampling and shopping.

In addition to the wine sampling and purchasing, Vintage Virginia offers educational seminars on food pairing, as well as the opportunity to peruse the wares of over 70 regional artisans and corporate showcase booths, ranging from fine art to financing. The festival also features children’s activities, including the educational Virginia Marine Aquarium, family comedy from ‘Those two Guys,’ and children’s musical group Gamelan, alongside balloon tying, ‘water wars’ and moon bounce. Fabulous food offerings at Vintage Virginia include Maryland crab cakes, Giovanni’s Italian, artisan breads, gourmet cheese, and an array of roasted nuts, spreads and sweets.

The 2007 roster of musical entertainment at Vintage Virginia may well be the best ever offered at a Wine Festival, with headlining performances by the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Soullive, Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen in addition to renowned regional performers American Dumpster, DJ Williams Projekt, William Walter & Co., Blue Mule, Sol Creech Band and Scott Perry.

Tickets to the event are available on the website www.vintagevirginia.com and at local wine outlets: Wine Specialists, Vienna Vinter, Chateau de Reaux, Opera House Gourmet, Leesburg Vintner and Ye Old Dominion Wine Shoppe.
