The Comas & Great Northern Plan Co-Headlining Summer Tour

The Comas have recently announced their summer touring plans will include a four week co-headlining run across the U.S. with The Great Northern.  The summer road-trip will take The Comas to twenty-three cities across the country, kicking off in Minneapolis on July 17th and wrapping up in Seattle on August 14th.

The Comas are hoofing it across country (again) in support of their latest release, Spells (Vagrant, 4/17/07), which was released to critical acclaim.  BLENDER stamped it’s approval with a 4 star review, claiming"…the big-screen sweep and high-definition melodies (suggesting Weezer’s sluggish pep buoyed by the Flaming Lips’ hallucinatory orchestrations) make this "malfunctioning android"’s anthems of depression extra vivid," and ROLLING STONE commented that  "…cuts like “Red Microphones” and “Come My Sunshine” rock confidently, and the big, slow chorus of “Now I’m a Spider” shows they can make with the pretty.”

Since Spells was cast in April, The Comas have co-headlined a tour with The Broken West and just wrapped up dates supporting The Veils.  The band also played a coveted opening slot at one of the sold-out Jesus and Mary Chain reunion shows in NYC this past May.  The Comas recently shot a video for the song "Come My Sunshine," which will be released soon.

With nothing but enchanting praise for Spells, which is chock full of songs that are “upbeat, charged with distortion and bubbly crescendos that assume a pronounced urgency onstage,” according to the Chicago Tribune, it is plain to see why the Brooklyn-via-Chapel Hill quintet is hypnotizing audiences across the country.
