This year marks the 40th anniversary of Miles Davis’ landmark jazz-fusion album Bitches Brew. While the legendary double-album is getting a full deluxe reissue treatment that includes a 4-disc package of the original album on CD plus an audiophile vinyl pressing on 2 LPs and previously unissued material, we may be even more excited about what will be arriving later this summer from the fine folks at Dogfish Head.
The Delaware-based brewery, who is known for their 60, 90 and 120 Minute IPAs, will be putting out their very own Bitches Brew. Dogfish Head’s Bitches Brew is being described as a bold, dark beer that’s a fusion of three threads imperial stout and one thread honey beer with gesho root and will hit shelves in late-August. Be sure to look for a full review of it on Strange Brew once we track down a bottle or two.

Finally, just before their scheduled appearances at Bonnaroo, Conan O’Brien decided to stop by Jack White’s Third Man Records Studio in Nashville for a pop-up performance with his Legally Prohibited Band in front of an audience of roughly 300 people. The show, which included bluegrass and rockabilly tunes as well as a cover of The White Stripes Seven Nation Army, was recorded live and will be released by White’s label on 12” vinyl – which is currently available for pre-order for just $15.
