Happy 50th Birthday Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains (Watch “Nutshell” Live Unplugged ’96)

Happy 50th birthday to Jerry Cantrell who was born on 3/18/66. The guitarist, co-lead vocalist and main songwriter for Alice in Chains has helped create one of the most defining bodies of work of the Seattle/grunge scene that includes the Facelift, Dirt LPs and both the Sap and Jar of Flies EPs. Following lead singer Layne Stayley’s death in 2002, the band reunited in 2005 for a live benefit show, performing with a number of guest vocalists. They toured in 2006, with William DuVall taking over as lead vocalist full-time and have since toured consistently and have released two new studio albums.
