43 years ago today, (9/16/77). Talking Heads released their debut LP titled 77. In terms of sound, 77 is as raw and punk as they ever got, as the band still contained the tight rhythms that helped define their sound years later atop unrivaled kinetic energy led by lead singer David Byrne. 77 contains one of Talking Heads’ biggest hits in “Psycho Killer” and helped launch the new wave movement of the late ’70s.
