30 Years Ago Today – XTC Releases ‘Skylarking’ LP (Watch “Grass” Official Video)

30 years ago today (10/27/86), XTC released their 1986 landmark LP Skylarking. Produced by Todd Rundgren, Skylarking is a loose concept album centered around various cycles in life, such as the seasons, days, and years. Skylarking didnt follow in the footsteps of XTC’s early jittery work but instead traveled in a path laid by the post-psychedelic pop of the Beatle sand Beach Boys. Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding proved themselves to be equally deep and expressive songwriters with a neo knack for melody that surpassed most other experimental bands of their time.
