New Van Halen Album Due Feb 7th

Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Van Halen, who recently revealed plans for a 2012 tour, have unveiled additional details about the trek, and have finally nailed down the release date for their long-rumored new album.

In an announcement issued exclusively via popular fan website the Van Halen News Desk, the group has confirmed a Feb. 7 street date for the forthcoming studio set, which will be the band’s first in almost three decades to feature original frontman David Lee Roth on vocals. The album’s first single and accompanying music video are due to surface Jan. 10.

Also on Jan. 10, tickets will hit the box office for the first round of shows on the group’s upcoming tour. Dates and cities for that initial batch of tickets will be announced Jan. 3, according to the Van Halen News Desk report.

Van Halen’s forthcoming album — the title of which has not yet been revealed — will be the group’s first in 28 years to feature Roth at the helm, and will mark the recorded debut of new bassist Wolfgang Van Halen, guitarist Edward Van Halen’s son, who replaced original bassist Michael Anthony just prior to Van Halen’s 2007/2008 tour.
