Legendary Christmas Blockbusters Still Trending this Festive Season

Nothing gets you into the Christmas spirit like a good Christmas flick. It may seem corny telling all your friends you stayed in on Friday night to watch a Christmas blockbuster, but when you are cuddled on the couch with your loved ones, the fireplace going and a warm cup of cocoa, where else would you rather be? Christmas blockbusters are fun and for the whole family. Kids get excited as they feel the reality of Christmas morning becoming a reality, something they have been waiting for the entire year, wives can finally relax knowing the kids are safe and husbands get to have cold beer enjoying quality time with his family. All of this is something easily forgotten in the new year and somehow Christmas flicks bring us back to a long-missed world of mistletoes, Christmas presents, trees and decorations. So if you are looking to get in on the festive action, here is a list of legendary Christmas blockbusters still trending this year!

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Jim Carey took on the impressive role of a Christmas hating creature who didn’t really hate Christmas, he just hated people. In this Dr. Seuss adaption, Jim Carey is a green frazzled Christmas ogre leading the audience through a hilarious storyline friendly for the whole family. Anthony Hopkins is the narrator and adds even more comedy to the movie, something enjoyable for the entire family.

Home Alone

Ok, if you don’t know this classic you have got to watch it! It’s the talk of the festive season every year and every year families around the world come together to share laughs about a creative naughty child who fends off robbers protecting his home over Christmas.

Elf

Everyone loves Will Ferrell portrays a boy who was raised by Santa and his elves when he was transported as a toddler to the North Pole. As he grew into a man he felt the longing of his own kind and went in search of his biological father. The series of events which leads up to the outcome of his travels is hilarious and a must see for the whole family. The sequel, however, is not so great.

Bad Santa

This one is not for the entire family. Billy Bob Thornton is a reckless bad boy, a drunk and in need of cold hard cash. As you can imagine it is a comedy action film for the adults but a fantastic comedy that has to be mentioned. The ending to the Christmas film is about the only soft part of the movie, definitely something for the guys to appreciate.

The Polar Express

If fantasy is your cup of tea on a cold Christmas day, the Polar Express is bound to warm you from the inside out. Tom Hanks is the voice of the train conductor and the little boy aboard the train embarks on a journey to teach him about love, friendship and the joys of Christmas. It is a family movie made to be watched every year!

Scrooged

Now we are traveling back in time! The Christmas film featuring actors Bill Murray and Karen Allen was released in 1988 and is a fantasy film regarding Bill Murray’s past actions when the ghosts of Christmas come to explain his wrongdoings and give him some Christmas perspective.

After losing the love of his life Bill Murray adds comedy to what he believes is an undeserved tragedy and learns from his past mistake. Just like playing the Scrooge slot game from developer Microgaming at the casino and losing it all. The Christmas message is a family watch for all!

Each year is filled with Christmas hits, new and old, but it’s the classics that keep us watching. Movies aren’t made like they used to be and with all the blockbusters filling streaming sites, it’s always a good thing to have a classic in your pocket. So if you haven’t seen one of the above, get on it with your loved ones and experience a legendary Christmas this year!
