The latest installment of the Grateful Dead’s weekly archival stream Shakedown Stream will feature the group’s 12/31/78 concert at San Fransisco’s Winterland Arena. Previously released as The Closing of Winterland – these shows were the last to ever be performed at the famed venue – this three-set New Year’s Eve affair contains a litany of highlights, including a ferocious third set featuring some of the band’s most cherished numbers, including “Dark Star”, “Wharf Rat” as well as one of the final ever performances of “St. Stephen.”
This week’s stream will once again kick things off with a live chat hosted by Dead archivist David Lemieux & SiriusXM host Gary Lambert with special guest Donna Jean Godchaux.
