Brooklyn psychedelic rock band Acid Dad has shared”BBQ,” the latest track from their upcoming sophomore album Take It From The Dead, due June 11, 2021 via Greenway Records / The Reverberation Appreciation Society. Check out the track below where all the modern psych goodies are combined with a healthy chop of melodic arena rock: say Pavement meets The Mars Volta.
“BBQ was one of the first songs written for the album,” says the band’s Sean Fahey. “I wrote it after reading about the woman who called the cops on an innocent Black family having a barbecue in Oakland. It’s been a permanent fixture on our set list for a hot minute.”
Take It From The Dead is a co-release between Brooklyn’s Greenway Records and psych powerhouse LEVITATION’s label The Reverberation Appreciation Society.
