KAYMA is an exciting new act emerging from Tel Aviv. The nom de plume for the commercially successful songwriter/producer Ori Toledano (whose music has made its way into commercials for Subaru, Intel, Pepsi and more), KAYMA is the songwriter’s first stab at solo work, and it’s remarkable. His debut single “Onsitelover” was a radio-ready hit filled with ear candy hooks and catchy guitar riffs, and now, KAYMA shares a live version of the song (filmed at Immanuel Church), and it’s breathtaking.
Stripped back to a choir and piano, KAYMA’s acoustic version of “Onsitelover” evokes shades of Hozier in its lush a cappella arrangement and spaciousness. A rich chorus of harmonies fills up the room, but it is Toledano’s powerhouse vocals that make an astounding impression. With an effortless vibrato and an impressive range, his vocals offer something different from anything we’ve heard in a long time. Pair that with the catchy melody of the song, and it’s an addictive listen.
