40 Years Ago Today – Billy Joel Releases First Live LP ‘Songs In The Attic’

40 years ago today (9/14/81), Billy Joel released his first live album Songs in the Attic. Featuring more raw rock versions of his earlier material off albums out before The Stranger. Songs in the Attic is Joel’s most indie rock album if there ever was one with a spirited version of “Los Angelenos”, “Captain Jack” and “The Ballad of Billy The Kid” backed by a live band at U.S. arena and clubs in 1980.
