Wilco’s Solid Sound festival takes place May 27th-29th at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA. Today, the festival announces its 2022 lineup. There are few festivals that measure up to Solid Sound’s diverse and surprising programming, and 2022 only further solidifies the festival’s commitment to a robust and eclectic offering. 3-day weekend passes are on sale now and nearly sold out.
This year features Japanese Breakfast, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, John Hodgman’s Comedy Cabaret, the Sun Ra Arkestra, and much more. As in festival’s past, it would not be Solid Sound if it didn’t feature multiple headline sets from Wilco lineup alongside band members’ various independent projects. From rock, jazz, indie, and hip hop artists to live falconry, star gazing workshops, and axe throwing, Solid Sound aims to delight the curious. In addition to the expansive galleries of MASS MoCA, with long-term installations by James Turrell, Laurie Anderson, Sol LeWitt, Jenny Holzer, and Anselm Kiefer, the festival includes a fully programmed comedy stage, naturalist/outdoor activities that exemplify the spirit of The Berkshires, a broad variety of family activities, local food, craft beer and cider, and more.
