The year 2008 didn’t start with anything close to an awesome party. It was smack dab in the middle of a global economic collapse in fact. The latest single from Glasgow’s 8-piece funk-soul powerhouse Tom McGuire & the Brassholes thinks hindsight and a whole lot of non-stop syncopated funk can make a party out of all that, especially when you hold it up to 2022. “I wrote this in a time of global upset, yearning for a simpler happier time. By most accounts 2008 was a rough year, yet I recall all the good snippets, flashbulbs of youth and radness, giving hope that even recent times of turmoil might be softened in retrospect,” says McGuire
