SONG PREMIERE: Teni Rane Delivers Vintage Cooked Seasonal “Stay In” Tune Via “Cozy Inside”

Holiday music typically can usually take it or leave it: songs to strum up consumer glee in big box stores and make the wallet or purse feel less guarded. Then there are the songs that are just about lying low and enjoying the few couple weeks we here in the states refer to as an end-of-the-year vacation. East Tennessee artist Teni Rane has the “non-cheese” holiday music agenda on tap with three vintage-colored seasonal singles.

Rane grew up in and around a community of Chattanooga musicians who helped nurture in her an early love for music. Through each stage of her writing life, her original songs have revealed a level of maturity that allows her to weave common experiences into songs that captivate people in every age range. Her vocals carry power and finesse rolled together with perfect balance to evoke the emotional feel of her lyrics, and her Americana-take on select covers is delightfully unexpected and well-received by a wide demographic. Rane also plays the guitalele, a string instrument Eddie Vedder plays

Glide is premiering “Cozy Inside,” a throwback charmer that recalls the torch of twangy greats that run from Patsy Cline to Neko Case. On this mover, Rane with her musicalal versatility proves she has the chops to become a full-on original up-and-coming Americana winner along the lines of Sierra Ferrell.

“The song juxtaposes the bright crisp mornings of a frosty late fall run-up to the holidays with the retreat to the warm and bright settings of holiday decorations and celebrations with a family that hold the early evening darkness at bay. The holidays are hard for many people – even the most balanced and close-knit families can feel the strain of unmet and unspoken expectations at their gatherings. Cozy Inside is also a wistful call for the simplicity of being together in those moments in ease. A note of melancholy rings through Cozy Inside – almost like remembering a holiday than currently experiencing one. I attribute this to it being originally penned during the holiday season of 2020 – when nothing about the gathering was simple,” says Rane.

“I love the vintage feel of the vocal layering that reaches for an echo of traditional holiday music while staying true to my vocal style and desire to keep the song the focus and the production not overdone,” adds Rane.
