50 Years Ago Today – Lou Reed Release Early Glam Classic ‘Transformer’

50 years ago today (11/8/72), Lou Reed released his second solo studio album – Transformer. Produced by David Bowie and Mick Ronson, the album is considered a pioneer Glam rock album with swaggerish tunes that included “Walk On The Wild Side.” From the iconic Mick Rock photograph, down to the 12 songs of hard living escapism; Reed proved there was durable life outside The Velvet Underground.
