LISTEN: Circles Around The Sun Share Early Pink Floyd Influenced “Third Sunrise Over Gliese 667”

Circles Around The Sun have officially released their new single, “Third Sunrise Over Gliese 667,” via Megaforce Records. This is the second track to be shared off of their forthcoming album, Language, due out April 28th. The single arrives as the group—comprised of Adam MacDougall (keyboards & synths), Dan Horne (bass), Mark Levy (drums) & John Lee Shannon (guitar)—are set to kick off a Midwest tour. Listen to “Third Sunrise Over Gliese 667” below where the band combines the space rock mindset of “Echoes” era Pink Floyd atop its own cosmic groove music brushes.

As guitarist John Lee Shannon explains, “This one was almost entirely written by Adam before the sessions. He brought it to the sessions as a voice memo demo, and we quickly finalized the arrangement and laid down the tracks. Adam and I spent the last few months of 2021 on an intense early Pink Floyd kick, and this song was obviously very inspired by revisiting those first few albums. The result is a good old-fashioned barn-burning rock and roller. Easily the most aggressive song that CATS has ever recorded.”
