Ween Kicks Off Spring Tour In Dallas With Lengthy & Rockin’ Setlist (RECAP)

No band gets mislabeled and under-appreciated as Ween does, even if their last studio album was in 2007. One thing that has stayed consistent for the band is their expansive live shows and 2023 has seen the band prepping for last night (April 25) as Ween officially kicked off their short tour across the U.S. After a three-day residency at Las Vegas’s Brooklyn Bowl in early March, the band took over the South Side Ballroom in Dallas, Texas for a show that is only possible when Ween enters the room.

In classic Ween fashion, the band played an astonishing 37 songs last night. The band bounced around their years of recordings to piece together a setlist that just about achieved the impossible, summing up the wide-ranging sounds Ween has explored in their career. According to Setlist.fm, the band primarily focused on their 1997 classic The Mollusk, which had 7 of its tracks performed including “Buckingham Green” and “It’s Gonna Be (Alright). The remaining 30 songs had the band pulling out classics like “Roses Are Free” from ‘94’s Chocolate & Cheese and then diving deeper to perform “Light Me Up” from their underappreciated 2007 EP Friends. You can check out the full setlist below.

With one show of their tour under their belt, Ween has never seemed more ready for a string of shows. Tonight (April 26) will see Ween head to Houston for a show before traveling over to New Orleans for a two-night stay at Orpheum Theater. The band also has plans to hit the coasts with shows in cities ranging from Los Angeles to a (sort of) homecoming show in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
