LA’s Moonwalker really manages to make a huge sound for just a duo on their latest release “American Dream Come True.” Opening a wide-panned synth sound somewhat reminiscent of a tone Aphex Twin would use, but as the song moves on there’s more homage to post-punk and psychedelic hardcore like the Mars Volta. The final product is all its own though. As you might imagine there are some politically and socially charged concepts within the lyrics of the tune in the opening stanza “Until my dying breath I’ll try to get myself ahead/ after I work myself to death I’ll get another life of blood and sweat/ wake up work all day and sleep/ Tomorrow morning wash, rinse, repeat.” Overall, the energy is high and all the attitude of a rock band with the rhythmic and production prowess of a DJ gives Moon Walker a sound people are looking for.
