Anna Tivel’s recently announced new album Outsiders (Live in a Living Room) is an intimate acoustic duo re-recording of her widely acclaimed 2022 release. It’s due out on August 18 via Mama Bird Recording Co (Haley Heynderickx, Damien Jurado).
Tivel delivers beauty, grace, and tactile vulnerability on her new single, “Invisible Man” from her forthcoming album, Outsiders (Live in a Living Room). Tivel is a true artist’s artist, where live versions that she produces stand up to what most would spend all day chasing, beating down a song, seeking perfection. For Tivel, she is simply dialed into her expressive muse and has proven again and again, without a doubt, that she is one of the premiere singer-songwriters of her generation.
Of the single, “Invisible Man,” she adds, “‘Invisible Man’ is a song about the fragility of the mind, how we’re all just one step away from losing it, by chemistry or circumstance, and there’s empathy in that and also a great fear that makes us want so badly to turn away.”
