25 Years Ago Today- The Beta Band Debuts With ‘The Three E.P.’s’ Compilation Album

25 years ago today (9/28/98), The Beta Band released The Three EPs compilation album. The first EP, titled Champion Versions, was released in July 1997 and featured four tracks. It included the acclaimed song “Dry the Rain,” which gained attention after being featured in the film High Fidelity.

In 1997, The Beta Band released their second EP, titled The Patty Patty Sound. This EP featured five tracks and continued to showcase the band’s unique sound. The third EP is titled Los Amigos del Beta Bandidos, and was released in April 1998. These three EPs laid the groundwork for The Beta Band’s psychedelic folk sound which would in a few years see them opening for Radiohead. Check out the debut EPs in full…
