Circles Around The Sun and Mikaela Davis are joining up for a new album titled After Sunrise, due out on April 4th, 2024 via Kill Rock Stars. The pristine matchup so far has resulted in the release of two singles- “Gloaming Way” and the title track “After Sunrise” — which are both are now streaming across digital platforms. Check out Gloaming Way below which was just released this week featuring an intermingling of Davis’ harp and Circles’ ever-present cosmic psychedelic interludes.
Named for the winding road in Beverly Hills where the album was photographed, “Gloaming Way” evokes a mystique that beckons you into the night ahead. Composed sometime after midnight by Circles Around The Sun and Mikaela Davis, the newest single from After Sunrise is the first of several originals on the album. Davis’ ethereal harp, Adam MacDougall’s serpentine synth and John Lee Shannon’s textural guitar lines weave a sonic tapestry throughout while bassist Dan Horne, drummer Mark Levy and percussionist Andres Renteria provide the interstellar choogle that has become CATS’ signature.
