Country legend Kris Kristofferson, one of the founding fathers of Outlaw country and a renowned and celebrated actor, died on September 28th at 88. “Me and Bobby McGee” and “Help Me Make It Through the Night” are just some of the songs Kristofferson offers to the musical lexicon.
Alongside artists like Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, Kristofferson made country music more raw and emotionally charged. In addition to music, Kristofferson has had a successful acting career, appearing in films such as “A Star is Born,” “Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid,” and “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.”
Kristofferson’s last album was 2016’s The Cedar Creek Sessions, which earned Kristofferson a Grammy Award nomination for Best Americana Album. His last performance was right before COVID on the Outlaw Country Cruise on January 30th 2020.
