It is hard to believe it has already been ten years since Turnover released their seminal LP Peripheral Vision. For the decade anniversary, the band is celebrating the only way they know how: by bringing the music directly to the fans. April 27 marked the first stop of Turnover’s Peripheral Vision Ten-Year Anniversary Tour. This trek will have the band navigating North America and performing their 2015 classic in full for the first time. The band headed North for the first stop of the tour at Toronto’s Danforth Music Hall, and along with the full performance of their landmark LP, Turnover dipped their toes into a few other chapters of their discography.
The band’s 18-song setlist touched on Turnover’s past, present, and possibly their future. Their performance of Peripheral Vision went off without a hitch and included the live debut of “Threshold.” The band wasted no time getting into some deep cuts after they played the album’s closer, “Intrapersonal.” They kicked off the next part of their set with two unreleased tunes that had never seen the light of day until last night. After hinting at some new material, Turnover navigated their colorful discography with ease. The band drew on their 2013 debut to perform “Most of the Time” for the first time since 2013, while also touching on albums such as Myself in the Way and Good Nature. To close their set, Turnover performed tracks like “Super Natural,” “Tears of Change,” and “Stone Station.”
With night one in the books, Turnover is just getting started on their expansive Peripheral Vision Ten-Year Anniversary Tour. Next, the band heads to Detroit before making stops in Madison, WI, and Des Moines. The monstrous tour will also include stops in Houston, Nashville, Orlando, Boston, and Los Angeles. If Turnover is not coming to a city near you, you can celebrate the anniversary at home. The band is set to release a deluxe version of Peripheral Vision on May 2, which will include instrumentals and alternate takes of the original LP.
