Nest feat.. Sierra Joy, Wooden Indian, Yellow Minute, Biologia, Me Vale Madre – IceHouse, Phoenix, AZ 12/13/12

NEST was the creation of Sierra Joy, Robyn Kingsley, and Becka Dang. Together with the help of the Phoenix community they spent days and sleepless nights preparing this magical installation that we all wish could stay up forever. For many that do not know The Ice House is an open performance space that might just be Phoenix’s best kept secret. The facility which used to be an ICE House and for 20 years a crime lab storage space is now a beautiful building that host many of events. The Nest featured music acts from Laser Beam Prayers, Wooden Indian, Yellow Minute, Biologia, Me Vale Madre, Nick Villa and friends, Lauren Farrah, and sounds by Matty P and Kapala. There were sound-scapes, string installations, cardboard installations, and a tents that made for a beautiful atmosphere strait out of Michelle Gondrys movie “The Science of Sleep”. From the set up to the break down it was nothing but professional…”locally professional” to be exact. Its so amazing seeing the best of the best work together to make something great. We all were so lucky to be able to witness that much beautiful music and art for $10. Sierra Joy is getting reedy to put on her next big art show/installation gallery in Austin Texas during the weekend of SBSW. Make sure to stop by to see what the hype is all about.
