Jam titans Widespread Panic will celebrate 25 years together in 2011. The group starts the year with three shows billed as 25th Anniversary Shows. On February 10th and 11th, Widespread Panic heads back to the Classic Center in their hometown of Athens, GA. On February 14th, Panic returns to the Fabulous Fox Theater in Atlanta, GA.
Panic performed at the site of the Classic Center during their first year as a band, 1986, when the property housed the Mad Hatter Ballroom. In fact, the first-ever Widespread Panic show took place at the Mad Hatter on February 6, 1986. The Fox has seen its share of Widespread Panic history having hosted three New Year’s Eve performances as well as the group’s return to the stage after a hiatus. Tickets for all three shows go on sale this Saturday.
