Akron, Ohio-based rock duo the Black Keys have signed with Nonesuch Records. The group’s label debut, “Magic Potion,” will be released Sept. 12. As previously reported, the 12-track set will feature such songs as “Your Touch,” “The Flame” and “It’s Just Got To Be.”
The band has previously recorded for Alive and Fat Possum, which issued its last two studio albums and a recent EP of Junior Kimbrough covers, “Chulahoma.” The new album is the follow-up to 2004’s “Rubber Factory,” which has sold 81,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The Black Keys are in London for a show tomorrow (May 23) at Scala. A six-date stint opening for Radiohead gets underway June 10 in Montreal; a fall tour is in the planning stages.
