New Monsoon Adds Bassist Ron Johnson

New Monsoon has announced that veteran bassist Ron Johnson will be joining
the band, effective December 1. Johnson is best known for his work with Karl
Denson's Tiny Universe. This has been a busy year for Johnson, who is currently
finishing a stint with Chris Berry and Pangea. He also toured and recorded with Mike
Dillon's Go-Go Ray. Johnson's first performances with New Monsoon will take place in
California and Colorado in December, including a highly anticipated three-night New
Years Even run at Cervante's in Denver, CO, where New Monsoon and Hot Buttered
Rum will ring in the New Year.

New Monsoon embarks on their autumn tour of the southeastern United States this
Friday, November 3 in Fayetteville, AR. Portland-area bassist Marshall Harrell will be
touring with the band in November until Johnson comes aboard. New Monsoon
announced earlier this week that bassist Ben Bernstein has left the band to pursue
other opportunities.

A complete list of tour dates can be found at www.newmonsoon.com/tour. More dates
in January and beyond will be announced soon.
