The tenacity of Daniel Hutchens makes little sense. Over the course of six albums with his band, Bloodkin, and two solo albums, he has skirted both critical and popular acknowledgement, despite writing some of the most prolific verse to grace southern rock in the last decade.
Beck will play five North American shows next month in support of his upcoming album, “The Information,” augmenting two previously announced festival sets in Los Angeles and San Francisco and a Sept. 27 opening gig for Tom Petty in Chula Vista, Calif.
As at recent shows, the artist will be joined onstage by puppets created by Puppetown Productions during the trek, which will hit Nashville (Oct. 12, City Hall), Chicago (Oct. 14, UIC Pavilion), Toronto (Oct. 16, Ricoh Arena), New York (Oct. 18, Theatre at Madison Square Garden) and Philadelphia (Oct. 23, Tower Theatre).
