New Jerry/Grateful Dead Archive Releases

Hot on the heels of the To Terrapin: Hartford ’77 announcement, Rhino Records has put together two more upcoming releases from the Dead’s vault including the first Pure Jerry release since 2006. Pure Jerry – Series 8 features a Garcia/Kahn show from the Marin Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium on February 26, 1986. Meanwhile, the latest installment of the Road Trips series contains the complete Valentine’s Day Dead show from 1968.

After tons of infighting, the recently formed Jerry Garcia Family LLC teamed up with Dead.net to offer the latest installment in the Pure Jerry series. This eighth release in the series marks the first official full release of acoustic music from Garcia and John Kahn. Pure Jerry – Series 8 contains all 12 songs the pair played that night including Run For The Roses, Bird Song and a cover of Dylan’s When I Paint My Masterpiece.
