One of the prevailing characteristics of Twitter is its immediacy – a simple tweet or retweet and nearly anything can go viral. After Lollapalooza announced its lineup late Monday night, we asked our @Hidden_Track followers for #instantfeedback on how they ranked the list of performers on a scale of 1-10. Based on the responses to our crowdsourcing, the lineup came in at a very average “5.”
In a different sort of twist to getting instant feedback on Twitter, Californian indie rockers Rogue Wave found themselves in Cleveland ready to play the Springfest at Case Western Reserve University, but without any instruments due to an airline losing their luggage. The band allegedly asked headliners We The Kings to borrow gear, to which We The Kings allegedly refused. Each year the producers of the Ottawa Bluesfest do a remarkable job of bringing a diverse group of artists to the Canadian capital and the 2011 lineup continues that trend. HT faves My Morning Jacket, the Flaming Lips, The Roots, Death Cab For Cutie, M. Ward and Galactic are each set to perform sometime between July 5-17 at the Canadian War Museum.
Ottawa Bluesfest 2011 will also feature the recently reunited Soundgarden and Death From Above 1979 as well as A Perfect Circle, The Black Keys, Ben Harper, Erykah Badu, Girl Talk, John Fogerty, Peter Frampton, Neon Indian, Shpongle, The Tragically Hip, Buddy Guy, Bootsy Collins, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros and dozens of other acts. Tickets for the event go on sale this Saturday, April 30, at 10AM EDT through Capital Tickets.
