Radiohead’s Coachella set was unexpectedly webcast last night.
Arcade Fire was greeted by a never ending crowd of people who had been looking forward to their headlining set all day. Their stage was set up like the outside of a movie theater and had clips of quirky old movies showing in the background. After a few powerful songs, Win Butler steps out and says, "If you had told me in 2002 that we would be headlining Coachella and having Animal Collective play before us, I would have thought you were full of shit.
As we reported earlier, a number of performances from this weekend’s Coachella Festival will be broadcast live on YouTube and now we know which bands we’ll get to watch on the site’s three feeds starting tomorrow. The producers did a good job of putting together a diverse group of acts for the webcast that includes Tame Impala, Cee Lo Green, The Black Keys, Mumford & Sons, The Strokes, the National and Morning Benders.
