As the grounds opened up on Saturday, many festival-goers headed to the Barton Springs Beer Hall where you could find a 100-foot-long bar with 16 adult beverages on tap. But
Days 2 and 3 of Sasquatch! Music Festival – they're two different beasts, but as the Festival begins to taper off, they definitely show their individual colors. By Sunday (Day 3), most are feeling the fatigue of doing three days nonstop- from Thursday's camping adventures to the music of Friday and Saturday. So, thankfully Sunday's early scheduling was a bit soft, making it able to ease into the day.
Grimes is, in some sense, a testament to the pursuit and creation of an artistic vision, no matter how outlandish it may seem, and making it fly, and the fact that she is controlling everything coming out of the PA from start to finish is also impressive. After an hour of songs, she speaks to the crowd for the first time.
It may be only the end of July, but 2012 has already seen the release of so many fantastic albums that we thought it would be helpful to put together 20 of the records from this year that have blown us away.
If the reception at this show was any indication, she’ll find familiar faces at the next gig, Chicago and beyond.
