15 years ago today (2/10/06), Neil Young’s concert film Heart of Gold opened in New York. Directed by Jonathan Demme, Young was featured using Hank Williams’ old guitar and his band featured Emmylou Harris, Spooner Oldham and the late steel guitarist Ben Keith and Young’s late ex-wife Pegi Young. The performance was filmed over two nights on August 18 and 19 2005 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and it It documents Young’s premiere of his songs from his album Prairie Wind alongside an encore set of classics.
