20 Years Ago Today – Joe Strummer of The Clash Dies At 50

20 years ago today (12/22/02)-Joe Strummer of The Clash died of a heart attack at the way too young age of 50. The co-founder, lyricist The Clash was one of rock’s most vital frontman who helped usher in British punk but topped it off with more ambitious albums and compositions. Let’s not forget he also had a solid solo career with his band The Mescaleros. Following his death, The Clash was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a few months later.
