25 Years Ago Today – David Bowie Releases Electronica Influenced Album ‘Earthling’

25 years ago today (2/3/97), David Bowie along with the only hairstyle he couldn’t completely pull off (spikey mohawk courtesy of late 90s fashion), released the electronica-influenced album Earthling. Obviously influenced by Nine Inch Nails, with whom he toured with earlier, Earthling was certainly an album of its Chemical Brothers/Orgy time. The album featured the Grammy-nominated song (Best Male Rock Vocal Performance) “Dead Man Walking,” and the rocking track “I’m Afraid Of American” featuring Trent Reznor. Check this one out 25 years later…
