25 Years Ago Today- Queens of the Stone Age Release Self-Titled Debut Album (Watch Live At Bizarre Festival ’98)

25 years ago today (9/22/98), Queens of the Stone Age released their self-titled debut album. After the breakup of Kyuss, Josh Homme, formed the band to further the boundaries of alt-rock and stoner metal. It was primarily written and recorded in April 1998 by Homme and his former Kyuss bandmate Alfredo Hernández, with Hernández playing drums and Homme singing and playing the rest of the instruments. Some of the notable tracks from the album include “Regular John,” “Avon,” and “If Only.” Watch early QOTSA with Nick Oliveri live at the Bizarre Festival in ’98.
