30 years ago today (3/31/92), Bruce Springsteen (then on breakup from the E-Street Band), released two solo albums the same day- Human Touch and Lucky Town. Recorded with session musicians after moving to LA, fans were afraid the Boss was abandoning his Jersey roots, but this part of the solo journey spun out some hits “Human Touch” and “Better Days,” however these recordings haven’t aged nearly as well as the rest of the Springsteen discography. Blame it on a lack of E-Street or too much material to digest, Springsteen would soon find his footing later in the decade with The Ghost of Tom Joad. Watch “Better Days” from MTV Unplugged 1992..
