30 years ago today (10/22/91), Matthew Sweet released the early 90’s power pop classic LP Girlfriend. Featuring The guitar contributions from Richard Lloyd, formerly of Television, the album featured sunny melodies and melodic gems across power chords that quite never got huge commercial success but garnered enough of a following for Sweet to continue a respectable solo career.
