30 years ago today (9/28/91), jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer Miles Davis died at age 65 of a stroke and pneumonia. Davis was at the forefront of several major developments in jazz music, including bebop, cool jazz, hard bop, modal jazz, and jazz fusion. His landmark albums are numerous and his legacy is tremendous – and this space or most would never do justice to his musical and cultural contributions. Check out Davis live at Montreux in 1988…
