30 years ago today (3/29/93), Suede released their self-titled debut album. Considered one of Britpop’s first records, Suede at the time became the fastest-selling debut album in British history in almost a decade and later won the 1993 Mercury Prize. The melodic interplay between Brett Anderson’s voice and Bernard Butler’s guitar defined the band’s sound and soon other bands would follow with a similar recipe but earn more international success.
