30 years ago today (4/20/92), following the death of Freddie Mercury five months prior, the remaining members of Queen (Brian May, John Deacon, Roger Taylor) hold the “Concert For Life” – The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness was held at Wembley Stadium in London, raising money for AIDS awareness in honor of Mercury. David Bowie, Elton John, Guns N’ Roses, and George Michael all performed making it one of the most viewed concerts of all time. The performance was broadcasted live on television and radio to 76 countries around the world, with an audience of up to one billion.
