35 Years Ago Today – Def Leppard Releases 20 Million Copy Seller ‘Hysteria’ LP

35 years ago today (8/3/87), Def Leppard released their fourth studio album Hysteria which became their best-selling album to date, selling over 20 million copies worldwide. The album churned out single after single (seven total) of polished hard rock that featured many a song with big multiple vocal harmonies that gave songs like “Women,” “Rocket, “Animal” and “Armageddon It” a big dose of sonic glam. Of course, the common strip club anthem “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” made the Hysteria cut too. Check out the album.
