35 years ago today (8/23/88), Jane’s Addiction released their debut studio album Nothing’s Shocking. The album was critically acclaimed and helped make alt-rock a regular in the MTV rotation as the band would later headline the first Lollapalooza tour in 1991. Led by Perry Ferrell’s distinct high-pitched tenor, Dave Navarro’s Zeppelinish guitar leads, Eric Avery’s notable lead bass lines and Stephen Perkins’ versatile rhythms: Jane’s Addiction were not musical slouches.
